Today, middleschooler Cross Lierl had the opportunity to job shadow Mayor Dotson, gaining firsthand experience in local government and public service. Cross visited both city and county offices and received a private tour of the new Madison County Detention Center, led by Judge Garrett.
Experiences like this show our students what leadership looks like and help connect classroom learning to real careers. We strongly encourage students to reach out and take advantage of job‑shadowing opportunities in our community.
Strong communities start with engaged youth. We need future community leaders, and we simply cannot begin that engagement early enough. We are building their future community, and their input is necessary.
Thank you to our local leaders for investing their time in the next generation!
