Our recent trip to the state capital with the Youth Council was an outstanding success and an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. The group had the honor of meeting Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Senator Bryan King, Representative Chad Puryear, and Representative James Eaton. They were recognized on the House floor by Representative Eaton and had the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with Senator King and Representative Eaton during dinner on our first evening.
This experience allowed our youth to witness firsthand how political discussions and decision-making take place—both professionally and personally. It was not only highly educational and informative, but it also created lasting memories that will shape these future leaders for years to come.
I would like to personally thank Governor Sanders, Senator King, Representative Puryear, and Representative Eaton for taking the time to meet with us one-on-one. Their willingness to connect, share their knowledge, and engage with our youth made state government more accessible and understandable. Additionally, special thanks to Representative Eaton and Representative Puryear for addressing concerns regarding forestry services in our county and city. Their attentiveness and commitment to finding solutions truly reflect representation and democracy at work.
