Mayor Dotson and Officer Manjarrez

At the March 9th City Council meeting, Mayor Travis Dotson issued a formal proclamation honoring the extraordinary actions of several community members and first responders who helped save a young child’s life during a medical emergency on February 25th. Among those recognized was Officer Emmanuel “Manny” Manjarrez of the Huntsville Police Department.

Officer Manjarrez, along with Huntsville Volunteer Firefighter Samantha Freeman, Madison County EMS, Madison County Dispatch, and community members Tyler, Logan, and Mabel Foell, responded with swift, coordinated care that ultimately saved the child’s life. Their teamwork, training, and calm under pressure exemplify the very best of public service.

In recognition of their courage and compassion, the City of Huntsville has officially declared February 25th as “Manny & Mabel Day.” This special day honors both the strength of the Foell family and the dedication of the first responders who stepped in when every second mattered.

The Huntsville Police Department is proud of Officer Manjarrez and grateful for the partnership and professionalism shown by all involved. Their actions remind us of the deep commitment our first responders carry into every call—and the powerful impact they have on the lives of the people they serve.Officer Manjarrez and Mabel
